We have gathered all the information you need to assess whether you exhibit the necessary features to be published on AppJobs and take advantage of all the exposure your company can get in the world’s largest community of gig-workers, as our partner.
What does it take to be considered a gig job and partner with AppJobs?
- A gig job does not normally demand exclusivity on behalf of the gig employee. This means that the gig worker can choose when they will be working with your company by simply logging on and off. Exclusivity may be required, though, while the gig worker is logged on or has made a specific commitment (e.g. taking up a specific shift or having a deadline).
- A gig job typically offers an unlimited number of job opportunities. There are no specific positions to be filled, rather anyone can join and be a part of big community moderated by the supply/demand balance in each particular market.
- Gig jobs are all about flexibility. The working schedule is decided by the gig employee and not by the app itself. Again, if a gig worker has made a commitment by their choice (a deadline, a shift, a task etc.), then they are expected to deliver it in time.
- The onboarding process for gig jobs does not normally require a CV or an interview. Depending on the nature of the job, there can, of course, be requirements, but they mostly concern details like owning a car, having a driver’s licence etc. Moreover, there some app-based jobs that require some kind of certification - a massage therapist or a dog trainer should submit their relevant certifications, for example.
- Gig jobs usually manage quality control with a system of reviews and ratings. Users can and are required to give reciprocal reviews, that help the community stay safe and keep a high quality standard.
- Gig workers are required to have some assets to perform their tasks, but these assets are not e.g. heavy machinery, 3d-printer etc. They are usually limited to regular, everyday assets that a private individual can easily access, like a van, a spare room, a bike, a taxi license, a qualified language teacher certification etc.
- Everything concerning a gig job can be done on a computer or smartphone app: the sign up, the creation of a profile, the submission of any required documents, the approval of the gig worker, looking for, taking up and delivering tasks, payments and getting reviews.
